It is not clear just how CBD health supplements and infused oils work in animals in Minneapolis, MN. In fact, researchers are still puzzled as to how it works in humans. Currently, researchers just know that in both humans and dogs, it appears that CBD is metabolized in the liver. Therefore, a lot is still to be done when it comes to understanding all the benefits of CBD treats for pets.

What We Know So Far

In its purest form, CBD seems to be tolerated well by pets. However, studies have indicated a rise in the liver enzyme alkaline phosphatase when using CBD wellness products in animals.

Tests on liver function conducted to determine if any liver failure was present returned favorable results. Therefore, the effects of elevated liver enzymes have not been determined to be benign, but have also not indicated that more serious health and wellness problems could appear in the long term.

There is some concern in giving CBD treats for pets to animals with known liver problems, or those that presently take medication metabolized in the liver. The reason for this is that it is unclear how such things may interact.

Quality Control

Another major concern with CBD wellness products is quality control. Since the market is not yet well regulated, there may be ingredients in these products that are not properly listed on the label. This includes THC, which has been found to be toxic to dogs and cats.

At CBD Health and Wellness, LLC, we ensure that our CBD treats for pets are of the highest quality. To find out more, give us a call at 612-822-2417 or email us at, and a knowledgeable representative will be happy to address your concerns.
